Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live
to Wilkins Theatre
on
March 19
. Created by Erth Visual & Physical of Sydney, Dinosaur
Zoo Live takes audiences on a breathtaking tour of prehistoric
Australia. Children meet and interact with an eye-popping collection
of life-like dinosaur puppets presented in an entertaining and
educational live theatrical performance.

Frozen Sing-a-Long
this winter, Kean
Stage will present a
Grease Sing-a-Long
on
April 7
in Wilkins.
Audience members are invited to dress up as their favorite Pink Lady
or T-Bird and join Sandy, Danny, and the gang.
The 2016-2017 Season concludes with the high tech wizardry of
ArcAttack
on
April 30
in Wilkins Theatre. Part rock concert and
part science experiment, ArcAttack invites audiences of all ages to
explore concepts such as electricity, voltage and current, magnetism,
robotics, and lightning through a show that’s both entertaining and
interactive.
INTERNATIONAL FILM SERIES
Kean Stage’s International Film Series at the STEM Building
Auditorium continued with
English Vinglish
on
March 18
. Directed
by Gauri Shinde and starring Sridevi, once hailed as the “Meryl
Streep of India,” this Indian comedy-drama follows the trials and
tribulations of a put-upon housewife whose decision to enroll in an
English-speaking course sets her on a course to empowerment and
self-discovery.
In the Swedish black comedy,
Force Majeure, April 23
, a family ski
trip to the Alps takes an irrevocable turn when a sudden avalanche
propels the patriarch tomake an astonishing choice that will continue
to reverberate. Directed by Ruben Östlund, the film won the coveted
Jury Prize at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated as
Best Foreign Language Film at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards.
KEAN STUDENTS IN THE SPOTLIGHT
The Theatre Conservatory will cap off its season of modern classics
with themuch-anticipated
AnAlternateApproach: An Experiment
in Perspective,
March 31 – April 8
, Vaughn Eames Hall, coordinated
by theatre professor and resident costume designer Karen Lee Hart.
In this innovative, site-specific, collaboration, teams of student
performers, designers, choreographers, and directors will turn the
typical production process upside down and inside out as they
approach Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s acclaimed short story,
The
Yellow Wallpaper
, from unique points of view. Performances will
begin in the Zella Fry Theatre, however the audience may be asked
to follow the actors to an unknown location and conclusion. Patrons
are encouraged to come with an open mind and a critical eye.
The semester concludes with an exciting lineup of free concerts by
Kean’s talented Music Conservatory students.
