KEANews
Kean University is serving up four new on-campus eateries this fall:
Smashburger, Auntie Anne’s Pretzel Shop, and Outtakes are now open
in the Miron Student Center, with Au Bon Pain opening soon in the new
North Avenue Academic Building. These culinary additions complement
already-existing campus dining spots such as Jersey Mike’s, Starbucks,
and the recently opened Enoteca Ursino (
, the
latest venture from the Terra Momo Restaurant Group.
“The new on-campus dining options have a broad appeal for students,
faculty, and staff, and are an added draw for our friends and neighbors in
the community, including patrons of Kean Stage,” said Kean University
President Dr. Dawood Farahi. “Each of these eateries prides itself on
serving top-notch specialty food and drink items while providing
exceptional service––a perfect fit for world-class Kean.”
From fast food to farm-fresh cuisine, Kean’s new dining options are
offering up something for everyone. Smashburger’s burgers and shakes,
Auntie Anne’s soft pretzels, Au Bon Pain’s café-style pick-me-ups and
Outtake’s grab-and-go fare will enrich the Miron Student Center at the
heart of the campus, making it an even more popular place to be.
For finer dining in a casual setting at Kean’s STEM Building, Enoteca
Ursino’s farm-to-table, Italian-inspired, menu features a variety of local
sources, organic produce, and an extensive wine list for any occasion. “The
Terra Momo name has long stood for creativity, quality, and hospitality;
with a focus on locally grown produce and artisan breads, combined with
fresh new food and dining trends,” said owner Raoul Momo.
Everyone on campus is excited to try out the new dining options, and
students are especially proud of their role in bringing more of their
favorite food choices to Kean.
“In opening these new restaurants, Kean is being innovative; reaching out
and listening to students’ voices and opinions,” said David Paul, a senior
math educationmajor. Paul specifically says he’s looking forward to trying
a hand-spun Oreo milkshake from SmashBurger, “It sounds delicious!”
