UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS
Three Canadian Artists Reflect on the Natural World
Susan Collett, Julie Oakes & Christian Bernard Singer
Karl & Helen Burger Gallery
(Maxine & Jack Lane Center for Academic Success)
October 24, 2016 - January 23, 2017
–
Since the beginning of the last century, Canadian artists have
brought a distinct voice to creating works to evoke the beauty, power,
diversity, and raw wilderness of a land that remains mostly untamed,
natural, and unmarked by man. Through the works of Susan Collett,
Julie Oakes, and Christian Bernard Singer, the exhibition poetically
explores the idea of place at a time when our relationship with an
ever-changing landscape has never been more fluid.

Art can go where the law does not. It can lead public policy
through the hearts and minds of artists and their audiences. This
exhibition explores human rights issues that may be acceptable in
one culture but unacceptable or illegal in another.
